Ferme La Massinie
Since 2020, La Maison Forte de la Massinie has been home to a pig farm. Jean and Sibylle Desmarest moved there to preserve one of the last French pig breeds, the Gascon black pig. These pigs are born on the farm and raised outdoors between the plains and the forest on more than 6 hectares of land. The farm also has a truffle field.
The products are processed in Périgord according to traditional recipes (without nitrites) : sausage, coppa, dried loin, exceptional ham, terrines and preserves. They are available all year round in the farm shop, by appointment. The farm also offers platters for your events and raclette platters for the winter, available by reservation.
The farm welcomes visitors and offers tours/tastings: history of the breed, tour of the farm and tasting (aperitif platter).
